MATT BECKERICH
Matt Beckerich has spent the vast majority of his life and time pursuing his passion for art. With over 20 years of full-time professional tattoo experience, he has gained world-wide recognition, and has refined a tattoo style that is unique and recognizable. He is most known for his modern interpretation of traditional Japanese style and traditional American style tattooing.
Born on Long Island, Matt grew up drawing and painting from a very early age. At 16 years old he began a traditional tattoo apprenticeship under Angelo Miller of Inksmith & Rogers, and by 17 (1999) he was fully immersed and tattooing full-time. He spent 6 years (1999-2005) tattooing in North Carolina and traveling between Miami, New York, and Hawaii.
In 2005, he moved back to New York to be on the opening crew of the now legendary Kings Avenue Tattoo. During his 13 years there, he traveled the world extensively and has tattooed in many countries throughout Europe, The Americas, New Zealand and the South Pacific. Yearly, he continues to have regular rotations between North Carolina (Made To Last), Southern California (Captured Tattoo), Florida (Inksmith & Rogers), Ireland (Allstar Tattoo), and London (The London Tattoo Convention).
In 2016 Matt co-founded Neversleep Publishing and curated/published Tattooing’s Guide to Symbolism - Cor Mysterium Vol. 1.
Featuring original artwork and commentary from 200 of the worlds most prolific and iconic tattooers, this book has become a staple in any collectors library.
Matt co-founded Fountainhead with Phil Szlosek in 2019 with the vision of creating an inspiring space to call home, in a bustling neighborhood where the staff and clientele alike feel comfortable and at peace.

Phil Szlosek
Phil Szlosek began his tattoo career in South Florida in 2007. Starting out alongside Frank Lee, Scott Milyonovich and Vince Moisdon, he eventually found a home at one of the most respected tattoo shops on Earth, Inksmith & Rogers in Jacksonville, FL. Gaining experience and tutelage from tattoo legends Mike Wilson and Angelo Miller. Phil spent his years there refining his traditional tattoo style and eventually wanted to expand his horizons, moving to New York in 2012 to join the ranks of the crew at Kings Avenue NYC, where he had the opportunity to further expand his skills and refine his style into a more unique and sophisticated one.
Throughout his career, Phil has had the opportunity to travel and work throughout the US and Europe. His time tattooing in England, Scotland, Italy, and the Netherlands has given him life experience which shaped his artistic growth as well as his character. His illustrative abilities are highly advanced and his style is versatile and refined.
In 2019, he co-founded Fountainhead alongside long-time friend Matt Beckerich. Thus, giving him the opportunity to further expand his already diverse style of black and grey, realism, and traditional American tattooing.

Hunter Schoun
Hunter Schuon began his tattoo career in the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 2017. As an apprentice at First Class Tattoos, he quickly realized his passion for the craft from the moment he made his first tattoo. This passion quickly turned into an obsession.
Constantly striving for knowledge and artistic development, he continued on his pursuit for growth. While working at Three Kings Tattoo in Brooklyn, he refined his skills and learned new ones from those around him. With the desire to advance further in his tattoo career, he then joined the crew here at Fountainhead as a resident artist.
Well rounded in a variety of styles, Hunter enjoys tattooing Neotraditional, Illustrative, Black and Grey, Realism, Dotwork, Fineline and more. Fortunate to have been surrounded by so many amazing artists, Hunter is focused on continuing to develop artistically and is excited for what’s to come.

JUSTIN MORCILLO
Justin Morcillo began his tattoo career in Amityville NY circa 2011, apprenticing under Mike Nomikos at South Shore Tattoo. Over the past 7 years he established his presence as a full time tattoo artist fully capable to take on any task. His passion for the craft grew as he sought to travel across not just the country but the world, tattooing from Portland Oregon to Edinburgh Scotland doing conventions and guest spots among some of the greatest studios in the world.
Eager to further establish his style and quench his thirst for knowledge, he sought to work alongside 30 year tattooing legend Erik Desmond at Loyalty tattoo. Here he honed his technique and history on traditional Americana and Japanese style tattooing. His journey now continues here in the heart of Huntington at Fountainhead.
Justin is known for American Traditional, New School Illustrative, Traditional Japanese, Black and Grey, Tribal, and Black Work.
